Starting in the Spring Semester of 2013, the Turchin Library is instituting a policy to fine patrons for overdue course reserve materials.

Reserve Fine Rate: $0.60/hour for 2hour and 4hour checkouts. $0.60/day for 1-day, 2-day, and 7-day checkouts.

When the maximum overdue fine of $20.00 has been reached, the material is considered lost. Additional lost fines: Lost material fee + $12.00 processing fee. *** Fines do not accrue during hours that the library is not open.

Avoid Course Reserve Fines By:

1. Returning materials on time. Be aware that returning materials any time after the due date may merit a fine.
2. Asking the service desk attendant for a blue course reserve slip. This will allow you to have a written record of the material’s due date/time.
3. Asking the service desk attendant to show you that the course reserve has been successfully discharged from your account. (Upon return)
4. Asking the service desk attendant for a discharge slip. The discharge slip serves as a written record to verify the time that the material was discharged against the date/time that it was due. (Upon return)
