As we begin a new year, I’d like to take this opportunity to look back on what was clearly a very productive year for TABA.

TABA launches chapters in five cities

The Tulane Association of Business Alumni (TABA) has announced the establishment of chapters in five U.S. cities. The five TABA chapters are Houston, Nashville, Washington D.C., New York and Miami.

Seth Hamstead (MBA ’12) and Simone Reggie (MBA ’12) are the founders of Cleaver & Co., a new locally sourced, whole animal butcher shop that sells a variety of meat and poultry products cut from whole cows, pigs, chickens and ducks sourced from South Louisiana farms.

My Brilliant Career: Cinematic Success

When David M. Brain (A&S ’78, MBA ’79) was about to graduate from Tulane, the placement office asked him to fill out a form stating his career objective. Brain thought for a minute and then wrote, “To never wear socks again.”

News from TABA: New Directions

As we begin a new academic year, our second under the leadership of Dean Ira Solomon, I think it’s important for TABA to become more inclusive of all Freeman alumni, especially those who live and work outside of New Orleans. To that end, we are working to establish TABA chapters in major cities where alumni can meet and participate in our programs and initiatives on a local level.

Motta Delivers Heartfelt Charge to Graduates

When Stanley Motta (BBA ’67) was asked to deliver the charge to graduates at this year’s diploma ceremony, he realized he had a special insight into the role: Fortyfive years ago, as a Tulane senior, he himself had sat in McAlister Auditorium impatiently waiting for the speaker to finish his speech so he could receive his diploma.
