It has been brought to my attention that much of the recruiter feedback I share on the blog and in presentations has been negative. What good things have recruiters been saying about Tulane students and, more generally, what good things do recruiters look for/encounter in talent overall?
I often get excellent feedback about Tulane students and their preparation for and performance in interviews and conversations with alumni and recruiters. Recently, I heard from BOK Financial, the parent company of Bank of Texas, based in Houston, that their experience during Freeman Days Houston last fall produced remarkably well-prepared, impressive candidates. They are eager to recruit from us again.
More banks in Houston have had great feedback for us too, including JP Morgan Chase, Citi and Morgan Keegan. These groups have hired MFINs and BSMs into their energy groups and have been thrilled with the on-the-job results and work performance Freeman candidates deliver. They’re also looking forward to growing the relationship.
Out in California, Tulane is gaining momentum in terms of brand recognition among employers. A head-hunting firm that is looking to place analysts in a private equity shop is very eager to put some Tulane talent among the company’s ranks to diversify their population of California-school alumni. A San Francisco-based not-for profit lender to social entrepreneurship ventures, RSF Social Finance, is eager to host Freeman MBAs for summer internships… as is New Foundry Ventures, a social entrepreneurship incubator. They’ve heard about the social entrepreneurship initiatives taking place here and are excited to see what Freeman MBAs can bring to their organizations. This brand recognition for Tulane as a producer of diverse talent with a passion for making the world a better place will only continue to grow, on the West Coast and beyond.
Atlanta is an equally hospitable market to Freeman grads, with companies ranging from a major petroleum company–RaceTrak–to a healthcare consultancy–Triage Consulting–who love Freeman students and want to work more closely with us.
